Burney

General Information

The town of Burney is located approximately 50 miles east of Redding on State Highway 299. The court is located in the same building as the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office. Burney is situated near a host of tourist attractions, which include McArthur Burney Falls Memorial State Park, located seven miles north of the junction of Highway 299 and 89; and Lassen Volcanic National Park, located approximately 45 minutes from Burney, Highway 89 and 44.

Jurisdiction

The Burney Branch Court has jurisdiction over misdemeanor, infraction, juvenile infraction, unlawful detainer and small claims cases.

The Burney Branch Court jurisdiction is as follows: Hwy. 299 E (eastbound) to the Lassen County Line, Hwy. 299 E (westbound) to the Oak Run Road turn-off, Hwy. 89 N to the Lassen County Line, Hwy. 89 S/Hwy. 44 to Old Station.
